As a community bank, Evans National Bank believes in community involvement. It is one of our stated corporate values. We further believe that our success is built on returning the trust placed in us back to the communities we serve. In 2002, we established the Evans National Bank Foundation.  Funded through corporate and other donations, the Foundation will be used to channel our financial support for philanthropic organizations and community projects.

Gracing the cover of the Evans Bancorp 2005 annual report is a striking photograph of a snowy American Bison.  The American Bison affected the frontier peoples of this continent in a way that no other species present or past has done.  It symbolizes the strength, determination and fortitude of Evans National Bank and the entire Buffalo Niagara region, our market area. To raise funds in support of the Evans National Bank Foundation, the image of the snowy American Bison have been made into a poster, entitled HOME.  The poster contains a caption, a quote from James Tilley, president and CEO of Evans National Bank, that resonates with all who call the Buffalo Niagara region home.  It reads, “Wherever the spirit may roam, home is where the heart is.”

Posters of the American Bison used on the cover of the 2005 annual report are available through the branches of Evans National Bank and ENB Insurance offices, with the net proceeds of the sales to support various charities in Western New York through the Evans National Bank Foundation.  The Evans National Bank Foundation is administered by the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo. Established in 1919, The Community Foundation serves as an innovative way for concerned citizens to put charitable dollars to work for the benefit of Western New York.  Copies of the Community Foundation’s annual report with financial statements are available upon request from the CFGB, 712 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14202 or from the Office of the New York State Attorney General at 120 Broadway, New York, NY 10271.

Beyond the financial support of the Evans National Bank Foundation, our Company's philosophy of community involvement is very evident in the many volunteer efforts of our staff, managers, directors and advisors. Typically over 10,000 hours annually, such efforts are an impressive effort that strengthens Evans National Bank's reputation as a dedicated and respected corporate citizen.
